If you have ever been to Amsterdam, you will know that cyclists violate the rules, notoriously. This sign provides feedback to cyclists that violating the sign will result in a 55 euro fine. This links to the fourth principle of behaviour design: interactivity. Unfortunately, if there is no actual follow through, the effect wil eventually wear off. It would be even better if the sign included a detour/ alternative route, and allows cyclists to take initiative and have more sense of control.
